Completing the Component Test

If your device shows "‘Component Test’ with a button just below, which says ‘Begin Test’ - your device is asking you to run a hardware test to ensure your hardware is still working as expected.

Required Equipment:

Hub in component mode
Vibby Panic Alarm

RFID Card, e.g.

- Bank Card

- Workplace ID Badge with an RFID Chip inside

- RFID EV charge card

Step 1:

The Device, will display at the top of the screen ‘Component Test’ with a button just below, which says ‘Begin Test’

Once you have the required equipment, press the ‘Begin Test' button

Step 2:

The device will go through a number of steps to test itself, there will be parts where you are required to interact with the hub. Continue with the following steps to complete the component test

Step 3:

The device will first test the modem, no interaction is required at this stage

Step 4:

The device will then test its RFID sensor (the white dot with rings around it at the bottom of the screen). Use a card with an RFID chip inside of it such as some workplace ID badges, or a bank card

Step 5:

The device will next test it’s speaker. Please note, during this stage, the speaker can be quite loud and alarming, however most of the time will be relatively subdued.

Once it has made some noise, you will be asked to confirm on the screen whether the speaker works, press the Yes button to confirm it works.

Step 6:

The device will then test its microphones. It will test Microphone number one, and simply press Yes, then it will test microphone number 2, and again press yes.

Step 7:

Now the device will want to test its sensor pairing ability. It will ask you to trigger a panic button near to it. For this you will need your Vibby Panic Alarm. Simply Activate it next to the hub and allow for it to pair.

Please note, this Vibby will not remain paired to the hub after the component test.

Step 8:

Lastly, the device will test its LED’s. Check that you can see 3 different coloured LED lights on the front of the device. If you can, press Yes

Step 9:

The device will now complete the component test. It will either have a green screen, and say ‘Success’, or a red screen and will say ‘Failed’

If it has succeeded, then the device will reboot to the pairing screen. If it has failed, The device should be returned to the Access Group via the RMA process.
