Secure login to the Assure dashboard and app with authenticator apps

A quick guide to using an authenticator app to securely log in and protect your account.

Written by Billy Dilks

Recent security updates mean that you will now need to use an authenticator app to log in to your Access Assure App. This is sometimes referred as Multi-Factor Authentication and means your account and personal information is more protected, something invaluable in this digital world.

How Authenticator Apps work

Authenticator Apps use a separate way of checking you are who you say you are,

outside of the usual Username and Password. This is often through using something

unique to you, in this case your phone. You will still need your loggin details, but you will also be asked for a One-Time Passcode/word (OTP) which the authenticator will give you.

What Apps will work?

We recommend using either Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator; they’re

easily available and easy to set up.

How to set it up

1. Download your authenticator of choice.

2. In the app, add a new application/account using the “+” symbol.

a. If given the option, select “Other account”.

3. Log in to the dashboard as normal until it asks you to “Secure Your Account”.

4. Either:

a. Copy the code into the authenticator app, or;

b. Scan the QR Code using your phone camera.

5. Once set up, the authenticator app will provide you with a numeric 6-digit pass

code for every time you login.

6. Enjoy your new, secure account.
